Researching angel policies

An angel policy is a statement of the "rules" governing use of a craft company's products to make items to sell. There are so many policies and the can vary a lot, some allow just about anything, some restrict you to numbers of items, some don't allow regular selling, and some require that you ask permission.

So I have spent a lot of time looking into the Angel Policies for all the stamps I own, and the equipment too, and papers etc, all have to be taken into account.

I have added a page to my blog to gather all this info on, so I can find it quickly in one place and I thought it might help others too.

I am really happy because Hero Arts have given me permission to use up to 50 of any stamped image (I can't imagine reaching those sorts of numbers), and I am waiting on a couple more.

The page is a work in progress, I am adding names as I think of them or remember I have them and looking for the policies when I have time and adding links.

Here is something you don't see every day, photo taken at the Farmer's market on Sunday in Lamb's Yard Bradford on Avon. The person on the right is Wellie who was promoting the Fringe Festival that starts this weekend. The monk is a real monk.

Quirky is recycling on the farm

Caro's challenge over at Quirky Crafts is called "Recycling on the Farm.

You have to make a farm themed craft project with at least one recycled element. The sponsors this time are Crafty Ribbons and Digital Delights by Louby Loo, therefore there are prizes for first and second. 

I used Claudia Cow from Digital Delights (I was going to make a card with more characters but my printer has chosen this week to give up printing, if I can get it going again in time I will make another card). I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut it out with Nestabilities and the sentiment stamps are by Penny Black. Moo ribbons by Crafty Ribbons of course, and my recycled elements are: pink holographic card (tissue box), patterned green card (tea bag box), leather flowers (furniture sample I found when clearing out some paperwork yesterday) and finally pink and black ribbons threaded through the large flower, black from a dress and pink was tied round a gift. I added a polka dot brad and Papermania gem to the flowers to finish them.

The first Farmers & Artisan Market in Bradford on Avon promises to be a good one

The first Farmers & Artisan Market in Bradford on Avon on Sunday 26^th August will run from 10.30 to 2.30pm and is shaping up nicely. The redeveloped Lamb Yard is a striking location that feels like a continental piazza when busy. Most of the retail and café units are now open and the wonderful range of fresh, local food and drink at the market will swell the offering. The talented locals, whose quality arts and crafts are sold through the Made in Bradford on Avon shop, were the inspiration for the combined market with additional artisans taking stalls.

“Putting the market together has been a bit like setting up a shop” says Sue Thomson, Wiltshire Farmers’ Markets Administrator, “an opportunity to search out some additional products to compliment the already extensive ranges offered by our established producers, some of whom haven’t had the chance to come to BoA before. It’s also been an opportunity to invite some old favourites back such Fonthill Glebe Wines, English and fruit wine producer.”

So, what else will we have at the market? The tastiest, freshly picked vegetables including organic; strawberries; local honey; apple juice and zingy ginger beer; delicious deep-fill meat pies; crab, fresh fish, pates and pies – direct from the fisherman, fishing permitting; cheeses; preserves; locally marinated olives; two bread stalls, both baking the traditional way, one only uses flour from Shipton Mill in Tetbury; seasonal plants; cakes, including gluten free, bakes and biscuits; chillies, spicy preserves and mild to hot sauces. A very local producer, Woolley Park, will be bringing their free range poultry, meat, pies, crumbles and seasonal vegetables.

Bridging between food and artisan our local beekeeper offers honey based cosmetics, candles and beeswax to care for your furniture alongside a herbalist offering died herbs and creams. There will be stunning pottery to be found on the market and at Made in Bradford on Avon which also has jewellery, paintings, photography, fascinators, handmade stationery and stained glass. At the market you will also find handmade hand and shoulder bags and shabby chic mirrors from probably the market’s most local producer.  Depending on the number of stalls, the Artisan part of the market will extend through to the riverside with its beautiful outlook across the Avon. Due to holidays some of the artisans aren’t able to be at the market until September, so more to look forward to.

Coffee etc, in Lamb Yard, has tables outside so that customers can linger and soak up the atmosphere, there will be a barbecue for meat eaters and the Cottage Co-operative Café offers delicious vegetarian food with a peaceful garden alongside the market and an upstairs lounge. To add to the destination feeling of the town many of the other shops and cafés will also be open, so plenty to do and see.

Now all we need is good weather - we’ll be there, bar tempest, but it may be a bring-your-own-sunshine day and we’ll make sure we bring ours.  We will be running a Hamper Draw and you will be able to vote for the most attractive stall, if it’s wet we may change that to the cheeriest stallholder.

Quirky kids

Di's challenge over at Quirky Crafts today is called Schools Out for Summer and is about kids having fun in the summer holidays.

We are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish, and I used two images from them, the one on the front of the card is called Rain Rain go away, and I made my own sentiments with a font in Page Plus to go with the image.
The window box is decoupaged to make it a little 3d, and the images are cut with Nestabilities. Papers were free with Crafts Beautiful magazine, and grosgrain umbrella ribbon is from the wonderful Crafty Ribbons of course! The rain is accented with Glossy Accents.
The little girl is bored with the rain, you can tell, and we had a lot of it this summer including thunderstorms this morning.

Then the sun came out and the image inside is called Shells for Sale, and now the little girl is happy on the beach. I added Art Institute glitter to the sand, image coloured with Promarkers, and free papers as before.

Anyone for Tennis 2

Another version of Anyone for Tennis, this time the House Mouse image is on straight and I used happy birthday paper by DCWV stitched onto the card blank and turquoise ric rac from Crafty Ribbons. I stamped and heat embossed the word Celebrate to complete the card, and there is a matching tag.

Guilty Pleasure

Now since Sooty had his bladder stone removed early this year he has been on a special diet of horrible yellow food. However he has his moments like the one in the pub a couple of weeks ago when the 96 year old chap at the next table took pity and gave him a piece of beef, which he gobbled as quick as he could and sat hoping for more! Now does that face look very guilty? I think so, or maybe a little uncomfortable? At this point I was 99% certain who done it! After all Alfie was upstairs on the bed with me, well I thought he was.

Sooty always goes foraging in the hopes of finding crumbs and dropped food, the kitchen floor, Alfie's dinner bowl, and the cupboard under the stairs where the dog food tubs are is good for droppages.

Now in the cupboard was a bag full of Fish 4 Dogs treats, waiting to refill Alfie's treat jar when he emptied it, and I think enough to fill it twice which would have lasted a couple of months or more.
Yes it was this bag, the one with the big holes in it.......

Does Alfie look innocent, and maybe a bit cheesed off?

Well I had to give them breakfast so Sooty got his potassium citrate liquid that he has twice daily, and at lunchtime when thoughts turned to biscuits I knew for certain who did it - Sooty was sick, then ate it again - yuk, so no biscuits for Sooty and I may not give him dinner either, or not a lot! Alfie only has what is left in the jar now, and three that piggy dog didn't manage to stuff in his gob!

Art Exhibition at Made in Bradford on Avon

Bradford on Avon is a lovely place to visit and wander around any time, and today and tomorrow there is the added bonus of an Art Exhibition going on right outside the Made in Bradford on Avon shop. In the shop you can find lots of wonderful art and craft items to buy including my cards!  Lovely to look at, and why not take a few home for yourselves or presents.

Anyone for Tennis?

I have been meaning to use this stamp for a long time, and finally I have. It is a House Mouse stamp of course, coloured with Promakers and the angle was another happy accident I decided to keep. I added some racket charms and a love charm, tennis, love, get it? Paper is DCWV which I stitched round, ribbon is Crafty Ribbons, and the greeting was stamped and embossed with a Stampabilities stamp then die cut with Nestabilties long rectangle dies. I am happy with it, what do you think? (I know no cards for ages then three in a row like buses).

Quirky Cupcakes

I haven't posted for two weeks, how awful of me! The hot weather didn't help me, I just don't function well in sweltering conditions!
Well here I am now and it is my turn to set the Quirky Crafts challenge, which is all about cupcakes, and any project must have cupcakes on it somewhere.

This card is made with Swordfish Cupcake from Limited Runs, they have some wonderful cupcakes which inspired me to set this challenge and it was hard to choose which one to use. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Trias and added Ice Stickles to the icing and Artist's Iridescent Medium to the water on the cup under the cake. I cut a doily with a Spellbinders die, and used some paper free with Card Making and Papercrafts magazine that arrived Friday, and this was great for my tablecloth. I used some pretty pastel grossgrain polka dot ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and a stamped embossed greeting with a Stampabilties stamp.

We have two sponsor for this challenge, so two prizes, and Paper Pretties supplied the two images I have used on this card, Party Hat Cupcake and Sprinkles. Doughnuts are allowed - as long as there is also a cupcake somewhere!

Again free papers from Card Making and Papercrafts Magazine, and I was going to use the other side of it but by happy accident flipped it over and liked this side better with my design. Promarkers, Perfect Pearls and Ice Stickles were used to colour the images. I had three attempts at Sprinkles, he got bigger each time until I had him the perfect size which is one of the advantages of digi images!

Grossgrain cupcake ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons, and it works perfectly with the paper and images.

Quirky Christmas in July

I have been sitting colouring Ruldolf in at my Mum's today where we were for lunch, and singing Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer loudly over and over  - everyone loved that I could tell!

The background is made using Snowflake from Stitchy and hand coloured with a pastel blue Promarker, then I applied Ice Stickles to the snowflakes. Rudolf's head is decoupaged, and both he and Holly Bough images (both from Stitchy) are coloured with Promarkers. Background cut with my favourite Nestabilities label set, and ribbons by Crafty Ribbons of course!

So quirky well late!

The sponsor at Quirky for the challenge ending on Sunday is Bugaboo, who do some great humourous images just right for the challenge which is called Make Us Laugh chosen by Caro. I used Bugaboo image - Ruby, Will Work for Chocolate, which is me apart from Ruby being a lot thinner! I thought this would make a great new job card. Coloured with Promarkers, gorgeous sheer polka dot ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, bow made using Bowdabra from Crafty Ribbons. Sentiment is from a set which I think was by Dimensions Forth, but I am not certain.

I am so late with this, mainly due to a bad reaction to some eye drops over challenge weekend, and then being away last weekend but I thought I would post this and it might remind people to join in (I might get my second one in later), you still have a  day and a half to play and maybe win some of these great images from Bugaboo.

Happy Birthday Son

All I can say about these stamps is WOW, Papermania have grown up! I have three sets of their Urban red rubber cling stamps, and two of them only cost me just over £5 each at Trago Mills recently.  They are ready mounted on cling foam and the design is on the back of the mount so you can see it through the acrylic block.  I picked places that Richard has visited, not sure about the pyramids though, but he went somewhere hot!

The inside is about where he is going on his birthday,which is the Harry Potter film set.

I made him a cake, a marble cake. I added chocolate chips into the plain part, which might be why it ended up very fragile and a funny shape.

Cut in half for frosing the middle, now that looks like it should.

Finished with chocolate butter icing and chocolate greeting, and mini chocolate beans.

Quirky Flowers (and ribbons)

Don't you just love this cute kitty from Paper Pretties, one of our Quirky Crafts Challenge sponsor this time round, yes there are two prizes this time and the other is a great Bev's Bag from Crafty Ribbons. The Ribbons I used on this card are from the Bev's Vintage Bag that I bought from Crafty Ribbons. You have to make your own flowers for this challenge as well as use ribbons and I punched my flowers then embossed them with a couple of Nellie Snellen punch and Emboss sets in two sizes. I added K&Co gems, I love the smooth glassy gems and I must get some more. Image coloured with Promarkers and die cut with Nestabilities. The dark coloured card is actually plum and matches the ribbon well though it doesn't look like it in this photo.

Baby Boy word book

As you know I have recently become a Grandmother, and therefore a special card was called for.

I dusted off the ecraft and bought a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe for this baby word book. I cut it in fairly thin card because that was what I had in 12"x12", but now I know how it cuts I will try other card. I cut the letters in Papermania paper. Stamped Grandson using a stamp from a Papermania clear set and Sweet from a Basic Grey set. Ribbons are by Crafty Ribbons, I love the baby washing line ribbon and they have lots of other cute baby ribbons. Lots of embellishments from my stash.

Decorating inside was a challenge, I didn't want it to show through the letters when closed.

Cute stamp from Rubbadubbadoo, I think Celebrate is a Hero Arts stamp, not sure now.

Some more cute stamps from Wordsworth called Clearly Wordsworth, and the greeting in gold is two stamps again from Hero Arts, it was a bit late but they thought it was worth waiting for.

Here is the darling boy (Kenny) with his Uncle Richard (O.K. you are a darling too) and the Queen.

I bought another file that I couldn't get the ecraft to cut, will have to have another play. In between cutting the book and the paper letters the ecraft threw a wobbly and I had to wait for a new blade cap to arrive which seemed to fix the problem and I hope I don't have another problem with it now!

Up Up and Away (The Sky's the limit)

My challenge at Quirky Crafts is Up Up and Away and your project must feature something you would see in the sky, the more sky the better on this one as I will pick sky projects as my personal favourites.

The Sponsor is The Cutting Cafe and these pre-coloured kites and clouds are part of the Up Up in the Sky set which has LOADS for your money, balloons, kites and sentiments, and you could win two sets of your choice. I used Serif Page Plus to create a background using the clouds and kites, then cut out kites to layer them for a 3d effect. I used sentiments from the set inside and out of this card.

Mum,'s birthday

Stamps used by U Mount, stamped in Vibrant Violet Stazon and die cut with Nestabilties, Happy Birthday is from a Hero Arts clear set and Mum is from a Papermania clear set, stamped with Kaleidoscope ink. Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons of course. The background cardstock was from Payperbox and was pick and mix, don't look too closely as it is upside down and I didn't noticed until the card was finished! Sorry Mum.

Using the same U Mount set and ink I stamped some wrapping paper then spritzed it with Glimmer Mist.
