WOYWW #308 D for do something!

I've not joined in for a couple of weeks, not since just before Shaun had his surgery. The operation was sucessful, he is home recovering and they tell us they got it all.
Last week I went to the Shepton Mallet craft show and I wasn't intending to buy any craft goodies - honest! Well this is what happened mwah mwah mwah!
So I have pick and mix card, buttons, lots of glue, triple thick glaze, sprays, Inky Doodle stamps, Stampendous stamps and dies, some cute flying things dies that will be used soon, a couple of bargain Marianne dies, stencils, beads, stickles and at the front is a small pot of Treasure Gold. I cannot get that pot open, I have tried and tried, so if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it!

This is my newly finished crochet project, a cardigan for me in cotton. I had a few problems with the pattern but not as many as the last one, here the buttons aren't stitched on.

Here the buttons are stitched on, it looks a lot more blue than it is, the photo above looks truer to colour than this one does. Looks a little tight, but the pattern was designed with "negative ease" - really!! I debated which size to make and am glad I went for this and not the next one down, at least I can wear it this Summer.

This handsome chap is the cat who teases the dogs. He normally sits beneath the conifers he is sitting above - until the dogs go chase him away! He is right beneath my bird feeder usually! There is another cat who also gets chased, is black and white and likes to walk across the pond cover. The grey and white used to look in our patio window until the dogs saw him and went crazy then he would hop up onto the patio table and sit watching the results!

OK I'v been putting it off, but here is the desk. I have had enough of this chaos - something has to change! See my new yarn tubs full up beneath the desk? I hoped to get a lot more in than they will hold.

Birds eye view, on the back of the desk is some material I found in the offcuts box of the local haberdashery shop, are they called that these days? Anyway it is the only shop in town selling material now, as well as yarn, and all the bits. I was heading for the art and craft shop, but found it had closed down. I thought I could make a new back cloth for my mini photo studio with the pink, and the other piece is has peace symbols all over it and the word "peace" and is a much smaller offcut. I liked the colours, just need to use it now - I have some pink left over which goes with it.
The trellis die cut and die - I bought the die at the last show in January then misplaced it until this week (see what I mean, something has to change). In the only space in the middle I am actually using some of my new stamps. The rest - just wants putting away somewhere!

Why am I showing you this? Well it is Wednesday, and on this day crafters of the world show and tell about their spaces and desks. To join in and go see just hop over to The Stamping Ground, home of the lovely Julia Dunnit who started it all.

A Quirky cat

You know I have a thing about cute cat images don't you? Well this cat is so cute I had to show you, I don't think I have coloured it well, but I did my best. The cat image is from one of our great sponsors, for the challenge ending Saturday at Quirky Crafts,  Sweet Pea Stamps and it is called Happy Himalayan by Concetta Kilmer.
I coloured the cat with Promarkers and die cut it with Spellbinders long rectangles and long scalloped rectangles, the tail was a little outside the box. I added some perfect cat silhouette grosgrain ribbon which is exclusively available from Crafty Ribbons.

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts to play with us, show us your perfect pet, real or fantasy or the pet you want to own.
I have moved my printer from one side of the monitor and keyboard to the other, had to unplug it of course. Then I had to find a longer cable - now it won't print! If I get it sorted I could be back with another example - maybe!

My card has happily purred it's way into the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - Anything goes #48 (Mon)
Tuesday Throwdown - #24 anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - Letters of the alphabet C is for Cat (Tues)
Papertake Weekly - take your pick cool colours (Tues)
Creative Fingers - #68 anything goes (Fri)
TTCRD - anything goes ends March 2nd

Our Quirky best friends.

The challenge set by Myriam at Quirky Crafts this fortnight is about your pets, either real or imagined. You can have cats, dogs, unicorns or owls, or any other animal on your project as long as it is a pet!
I chose The Kitty Collector by Regan Kubecek from Sweet Pea Stamps, and she has taken me several hours to colour with Promarkers. Some crazy cat lady, isn't she great!
The papers are from a lovely stack by Me and My Big Ideas, and the swirly clips are HOTP. The brads are Papermania and the panels are cut out with Spellbinders Card maker dies in A2 and 5"x 7". I added some ribbon threaded lace too.
I'm late due to daily crisis calls from Mother in Law who came home on Wednesday - and I thought it would get easier! Ah well, give it time. I hope to get a good night's sleep tonight - really hope!
Please excuse the photo, we have visitors over and I couldn't set up the mini photo studio, and tomorrow we are going to a funeral.

We are so happy to have Sweet Pea Stamps sponsoring us for the first time, alongside our one of all time favourites Bugaboo and both have provided images to the team and prizes.

I hope to complete my Bugaboo project tomorrow night.

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts Challenge blog to see some more great examples and to play along and win prizes.

This card has purred into the following challenges:
Crafty Gal's Corner - #6 anything goes (Fri)
Crafting from the heart - anything goes #47 (Mon)
Creative Fingers - #67 anything goes (Fri?)
Graph'it markers - spring or green (27th Feb)

Crazy Quirky Christmas cat lady back again.

As promised, here are some more variations using Ike's Art Cracka Cat (see previous post). This time the cat is Siamese, and the papers are magazine freebies. Ribbon by Crafty Ribbons. Layers are die cut with
Spellbinders and the image is coloured with Promarkers.

I tried to make this one a tabby cat, don't think it worked! Tinsel ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, Poinsettia is punched and embossed with Nellie Snellen punch and emboss sets and I added some tiny gold beads tothe centre. Layers are die cut with
Spellbinders and the image is coloured with Promarkers. The papers were freebies with a magazine and the tree lights are Woodware embellishments.

I used more of the paper inside.

Last one for now, and this one is supposed to be a black and white cat. Tinsel ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, freebie papers that came with a magazine, and punched silver bells. Layers are die cut with Spellbinders and the image is coloured with Promarkers. The papers were freebies with a magazine and the tree lights are Woodware embellishments.

So that is it for now, I have two more to colour - which colours I wonder?

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts and enter your Christmas cards with die cuts or punch outs now!

Mum,'s birthday

Stamps used by U Mount, stamped in Vibrant Violet Stazon and die cut with Nestabilties, Happy Birthday is from a Hero Arts clear set and Mum is from a Papermania clear set, stamped with Kaleidoscope ink. Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons of course. The background cardstock was from Payperbox and was pick and mix, don't look too closely as it is upside down and I didn't noticed until the card was finished! Sorry Mum.

Using the same U Mount set and ink I stamped some wrapping paper then spritzed it with Glimmer Mist.

Cattitude

I have made a card using the template from the last challenge, which I have decided I really like.
These are so easy to make, and it is a shame we had so few entries.
Mum has adopted a Tonkinese cat that needed a new home, and she only went to get the mower serviced! So it seemed to me that this would be a lovely card for her. I had some printed cat material I bought at a show, some of it has cat panels, and some has the same cats but smaller scattered all over, so I used the panel and small cat. Both are mounted on lampshade material which can be shaped a little, unfortunately it doesn't want to lie flat for this card so I added two panels of card behind it which makes it a little heavy.
I cut it out with the largest small square Nestabilities die, and used the scalloped one to make the mat behind, then I decided to make a frame to mount on top. I had some catty card which I used for my pull out panel, and I added some to the inside apeture too. I stamped round the card with a cat set, not sure if it is Woodware, I think it might be. I heat embossed with gold. Finally I added some Crafty Ribbons sheer polka dot ribbons to the pull section.
