Awards and tags catch up

Oh dear, I think I should have done this as they came along, apart from the photo one which requires access to either my old hard drive if it still works or a backup and I was waiting for my new PC which should be arriving this week!

Raw Chicken

Here is a tantalising glimpse of the blog candy that is winging it's way to Nicola who won the guessing game. I hope she likes it, and it is the stuff in the basket, not the stuff round the basket on my messy work space!

Also I had a very thin box which was about A4 size and I managed to get everything in.

I made this card for the chocolate challenge on Crafts by Carolyn forum. It is one of my new stamps, mounted on some hand made paper, mounted on the English Paper Company paper. The card is chocolate brown, with an embossed scallop, and edged with Papermania sticky ribbon.
Hanging from the stamped image are two brass charms - knife and fork.
The Matching Birthday word is also Papermania but is not sticking well.
I inked the edges of the stamped image with pink ink and the pink waffle paper has a pink Crafts by Carolyn brad in each corner.

What a week (or two), we went out for a family meal to a new Indian restaurant that sounded promising. Starters were beautifully presented, my main meal was Tandoori Chicken which was on the bone, although it didn't mention this on the menu.

First of all it was later than everyone elses, and the rice and veg was all there. Then it arrived, and I ate a little but was finding it difficult to get any so started cutting it off the bone and it was completely raw in the middle, and I mean uncooked, not just pink.

That put me off my meal completely and I didn't eat another thing, they apologised profusely and gave me a bag of it to take home promising it was 100% cooked! I didn't eat it, and I will never go back. I am just thankful that I didn't get Salmonella poisoning.

I can never remember actors names, well not female film ones apart from Kiera Knightly who is not like me, maybe Dawn French would be more like me but she is funny, I am not!

2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity, and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with you and & your least favourite clebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be and why?

I think Jonathon Ross would spend the first two weeks with me, he is very entertaining.

I don't want to spend the second two weeks with anyone I don't like!

3. What are your 3 favourite crafting products?

I would have to say card, stamps and ink right now.

4. If you could invent something what do you think it would be?

A robot cleaner to clean the bathrooms (oh no I forgot that is me!)

A quiet day today, as I am not feeling well - had an upset tummy earlier. Yesterday I had loads of post, two parcels of goodies, craft magazines and the stamped images from the PCJ stamp swap I joined. I see that Deekatz who organised it has already made her cards from the stamps she kept.

I spent yesterday evening colouring my three images in with mixed results (well with watercolour crayons, brush markers, and liquid pearls really), I am not good at colouring! I hope to make them into cards and post them on the forum soon! The problem with this is you can't restamp the image if you mess it up, apart from one of the as I have the same stamp! That one ironically turned out fine.

What was in the parcels I hear you say! Well one was from Artymiss and I had forgotten about it and what I ordered so it was a lovely surprise. I got a pack of packs of K&Co 6"x6" papers which are lovely, some twinkle writers, some pots of ink and some Christmas tree charms! Not one stamp!
The other parcel was from Readicut, I placed an order after someone tipped everyone off on a forum that Readicut were offering a pack of papers free that is normally £14.99, you only have to pay postage. No other purchase necessary as there usually is with Readicut offers. Of course I bought a few other things, a stamp lucky dip, a budget stamp set lucky dip (might do for my neice) and a paint lucky dip.

Once I had placed my order and paid I noticed there were two items I hadn't selected added to my order, I emailed Readicut but they weren't able to stop them in time so I have to send them back and the postage will be refunded as well as the items (I hope this will not be as painful as last time).

The pot luck stamp was quite cute, the paint was a pot of dimensional paint in green, but the budget stamp set was a foam cube with snowflakes on each side - I can't see it costing the £1.99 I paid let alone the £3.99 to £12 that Readicut claim it could be worth! So I am sending that back in disgust!

This is the 4th time I have been tagged, thanks very much to Kerry Angelwings, but I have decided to pass as I only just got tagged and tagged others very recently!

I can't go through it again right now, sorry Kerry! (Also Kerry was one of the people I tagged which turned out to be jointly with Mel, Kerry didn't notice but tagged me back!)

I have been back at work today, despite suffering from a "non specific virus". I wasn't feeling too bad but I am seizing up all over now! Suffered for the past week and a half - just my luck as I have been on leave!

I have had antibiotics from a hospital doctor, had my teeth xrayed then got the non specific verdict from another doctor - great holiday (NOT)!

Had a reasonable journey to work this morning, despite the 12 week roadworks closing one of the main routes and forcing loads of traffic onto the road I take daily, but coming back was hell! Once the jam cleared I got stuck behind a 40 mph driver, who had so many political and footy slogans on his back window I doubt he could see the queue behind him!

I am not looking forward to my journey in tomorrow as I have to get to a different office, and go through the worst of the traffic!

I've been tagged!

This is a new experience! I guess it had to happen eventually.

I have been tagged, and what I have to do now apparently is publish the rules, tell you 7 things about myself that you didn't know and tag 7 other people and link their blogs!

Given that for some reason unknown to me when I had PC problems and I backed up and imported my bookmarks again afterwards the craft blog folder was totally empty! So I have spent hours trawling through forums looking for my buddies to tag!

I also used links on Cass's blog for some and that is when I found I had previously been tagged by Silver Custard but I didn't know - so apologies for that!

I am trying to watch a stamping DVD which I have not been concentrating on a bit while looking for BLOG buddies to tag! Also the presenter is a little serious for my liking - maybe that is why it was reduced!
