Grow a weirdly beautiful garden.

I made this card in May, casing one in Craft Stamper  in the Summer Skies article in June 2015, and I sent off a photo of it to the magazine but I never heard a thing, so I guess it is safe to post it now.
The background was made by heat embossing clouds in white on watercolour paper before painting the paper in blues and lemon blending together to make green grass. My clouds stencil is pretty primative, I need a different one I think.

Then the background was stencilled with distress inks using Bundled Sage. The same JOFY flowers were stamped on white card and the heads coloured before cutting them out to add to the background. I used the butterfly and words from the same JOFY 11 set, I only have two sets and luckily had the stencil that goes with this set. Some of the stencilled flower heads were coloured with Distress ink in purple. I due cut the shape the words are on to make a blue cloud, using a Spellbinders die and more Brusho splatted card.
The colours you get with just a few grains of Brusho powder is astonishingly vibrant!

I decided to post this now because PaperArtsy have the perfect challenge - pigment powders, and there are lots of tutorials and fabulous examples using Brusho's, and other pigment powders, which I hope to have a go at too.

I have entered the following challenges:
PaperArtsy - #17 Pigment Powders (Sun)
We Love 2 Create - #19 mixed media (Sun)
Left of Centre - no designer paper (Fri)
Simon says stamp - Stamptember, die crazy (Wed)
Sweet Stampin - embossing (Wed 30th?)

Stand Easy

This little gal will be delivered at the weekend to my neice who is in the Army Cadets. She recently was picked to go to Belgium to take part in the rememberance parade. So when I saw this Polkadoodles image Army Girl I knew it was perfect for her birthday.
I coloured the image with Promarkers, die cut her with a Spellbinders Curved Rectangle die and mounted her on Kraft card. I created the sentiments to match. The boot prints are a free stamp with Craft Stamp by Visible Image. The numbers are from a Pink Gem stamp set and are coloured with Prismacolor pencil, and th is from a Craftwork Cards typewriter alphabet stamp set.

This little gal is marching into the following challenges:
Polkadoodles - CAS (Fri 28th Nov)
Allsorts - no DP (Sat)
Paula Holifield - CAS (Sun)
TTCRD - anything goes (Dec 1st)
Pink Gems - Use Kraft (Sat Dec 6th)

New card challenge over on Quirky Crafts Forum

We have a card challenges section on the Quirky Crafts forum now, just for fun though you never know what might happen. Challenge 1 is to make a card using the last crafty thing you bought and I have just bought some Nellie Snellen dies, which I wanted to try and I love them.
So here is my card:

Once again I used the cute puppy stamp free with Craft Stamper magazine, coloured with Promarkers, framed with a Nellie Snellen die cut frame, papers are In My Minds Eye which were free with Papercraft Inspirations, ribbon from Crafty Ribbon, Die cut ribbon slider using Cuttlebug die and circle with Nestabilties circle die, stamped in blue, and finally a gem added over the stamped flower. Typing this with splint on my hand so excuse any errors.

I have entered this in:
the I love Promarkers challenge which is animals,
Stamping for the weekend, ribbons and bows

Quirky Crafts Challenge 23 Buttons the dog

Challenge 23 over on Quirky Crafts Challenge blog is "buttons". It is also sponsored by Crafty Ribbons, and the paw prints ribbon is from them so it was appropriate to use it.
The little dog stamp is the cover gift on Craft Stamper magazine this month and is by Pink Gem Stamps, the papers were from the USA, sentiment is from a set by I think Basic Grey but not sure. Buttons from stash. Image coloured with Promarkers.

Come on over and join in with your projects featuring buttons and win a load of ribbons.

Craft Stamper Blog

Wow! I just found that my favourite magazine Craft Stamper has a newly hatched blog! Also there is blog candy!

Wednesday, 2 July 2008

I found it!

The only thing is I didn't notice the time, went to bed too late then couldn't sleep so have felt wrecked all day!

I had a surprise though - my new Craft Stamper magazine arrived today and I didn't recognise it at first.

It has had a makeover, now you don't get a rubber stamp but you get a polymer stamp and this month is is a strawberry stamp in red polymer!

I loved my old Craft Stamper so this takes a bit of getting used to but there are some good articles, one on alcohol inks use, one to create an antique notebook, and lots more.

I just treated myself to this Creativity Life offer.
Also I have treated myself to the special offer free stamps from Crafts Beautiful, and bought all the other special offers while I was there!

Well it is my birthday next week, so someone has to treat me, even if it is me!

I'm rearranging my craft room

I had the urge to rearrange my craft room last night, I can't stand it any longer. I am trying to come up with ways of putting everything tidy, so the bottom shelf of my teddy bear collection was emptied, and I put books from the cupboard on it.
I also had to squeeze the shelf up a bit, sorry teddies - you look a bit uncomfortable squashed in there!
Then I re-photographed any changed stamp boxes, and the new ones, and labelled them.
I have managed to get 8 boxes in the cupboard, but the other stuff in there now needs a new home.
Also the teddies need a new home!

I am going to put the UM stamp Lever Arch folders back in the cupboard and see if there is more room as I have 4 binders of Craft Stamper magazine and this years magazines to put in a binder. (got all the other mags but these are the only ones that I put in binders).

It would be nice to get all the clear stamp folders in the cupboard but more stuff will have to move.

I think the cuttlebug folders, not yet tried, can go in the purple boxes with the dies, also the spare plates for the die cutters - I actually have two eyelet setting plates for the Wizard, I think it only uses one and I haven't tried it out!

There is still a long way to go but I think it is getting better! Also if the boxes my son has for selling on Ebay go it will make a difference!

Today my son gave me back the network connector, so he can't go on Ebay and buy any more stuff when he is in his bedroom - methinks I should do the same before it is too late!

Robo blues and slide show success

Hooray, thanks to a kind person on the bloggers forum I have got the slide show back where and how I want it! In fact it looks better than before I think.

I have been trying to get Design Manager for Craft Robo working, but I had to reinstall everything after the PC problems and reformatting. This is the first time I have tried to use it, and everytime I opened a file I got a message saying a security device was missing, then it shut down!

So I thought I would use Robo Master and look on the Cutters disk for a 50 template to make a card but I kept getting error messages there too, it seems I have a faulty CD so I need a replacement or the files emailed to me, I would rather have a new CD so I won't have it in time. So I will either have to make a new template with Robo Master unless Graphtec can sort out DM for me, or I will have to do something else!

With all that going on and the fact I haven't been feeling well for a few days, especially yesterday, I haven't managed to get to making any cards yet, I will soon!

I was watching QVC and trying to work out if I wanted one of the kits for sale, but I have decided against it! I have so much stuff and have spent loads lately I really don't need it!

I got Craft Stamper Magazine today, it has a little Easter stamp with eggs and two cute ducks on it and I like the examples although I have hardly ever used the free stamps from the last 4 years, and never make the ones in the magazine but this time I think I might make them but I need the pearlescent card in the colours. You can buy a kit for £17 with some card, 3 souffle pens, Chippies chipboard flowers and hearts, and ink pads ribbon and brads! I have found the Chippies separately, want a set of the pens, have loads of ink pads but not sure I have all the colours of card in pearlescent!
