Our Quirky pets.

I should have made this card last week, apologies to Bugaboo who are one of our two sponsors this time. The images are from the brand new Mini Kit Kidz Clowns, such a cute set with lots of images and the sentiment, I haven't used all of them there is one very cute girl in a clown costume one too, great value for money - or you could win it!
I coloured the images with Promarkers, and added some white Prismacolor pencil to the girl's face afterwards for clown make up. I cut round the image and mounted it on red sparkly card. The badge is cut with Spellbinders circles and scalloped circles. The paper was free with a magazine, so happy I remembered it as it is perfect here. I added some grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, eyelets. a star button, mini pom poms and bakers twine. I recently bought this cute ticket die by Trimcraft, (with one other really cute die) called Fun Fair,  which the wonderful Sam Hirst of Samaflora kindly got for her friends at the cost she bought them at (plus postage) they were a bargain and I really appreciate it, again this was perfect for this card and is one of the row of three tickets. I just kept thinking of these little bits to add to the card, I had so much fun making this, I regret there are some marks on the green card I didn't see - hand cream I think!

I made a detachable pin brooch too, it was supposed to pin through two holes but the layers made it too thick to do properly, so I added twine through the holes and pinned the brooch to the twine. I worry about pins on cards for children, I am not sure what age they are safe but I would give this to an adult too.
Inside the card I used the same paper, and the other two die cut tickets, a die cut panel with a Spellbinders die, and the brooch is here again detached.

A flat view of the inside.

Back of the pin brooch, it's got a safety catch - I have a whole bag of these.

We are also sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps and I hope to have another example or two later.

So if you want to join in and show us your pets, or a pet you would love - even a fantasy pet, then hop over to Quirky Crafts to play with us and see some more wonderful examples.

Quirky Secret Garden

Monica chose a lovely challenge this time, it is called Secret Garden and must feature flowers.
We have two sponsors, Samaflora who is giving some hand made flowers to two lucky winners, and Unky who is our brand new sponsor and provided the gorgeous images we have used - you really need to go see the rest on the Quirky Blog too!
For my first card I used Aurora Cherry Blossom, I coloured her with Promarkers and die cut a frame with Spellbinders. I put some Chatterbox ribbon top and bottom of the image and the pearlescent panel the frame is mounted on has some very pretty chiffon ribbon printed with daisies from Crafty Ribbons.
I die cut the cherry blossoms with Britannia dies, and punched the centres with a Nellie Snellen punch, and added green to the ends, and Stickles to the middles. I haven't decided if I am going to add a sentiment yet. The frame is popped up and with the flowers this is very 3d.
Cherry blossoms make me happy, they are all about new beginnings and Spring. Our poor cherry blossom tree really suffered in the drought last summer, it lost all of it's leaves so early and we are hoping for signs that it has survived and will blossom this Spring.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Craft Mojo - Spring flowers (March)
ABC - G is for Girls (Sat)
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is coming (Sat)
Passion for Promakers - Make it digital (Tues)
The Technique Twist - Faux frames (Sat 15th) (Winner)
The East Wind Challenge Blog - Use a digi (13th March)

My second card features Vintage Dolly Girl Mon Amour Sitting in the Flower Garden, and I set her in her secret garden behind a green fence and gates die cut with Spellbinders DLites, and sitting on some HOTP paper representing a picnic blanket. I added some Prima blooms, and a die cut sentiment using a die free with a magazine. The image is coloured with Promarkers (I haven't mastered clothes yet, the hair is getting better) and die cut with Spellbinders.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Feeling Crafty - Use a digi and bling (March)
I Love Promarkers - Use die cuts but no punches (Wed)
That Craft Place - Anything goes (Sun)
Stamping for the weekend - Sparkle and Shine (Fri 14th and I really hope it wasn't me that posted too many entries last time, my memory is awful)

A Quirky small world reminder - places all over the world (not small as in tiny things)

I am pleased with this card, I used a Paper Pretties image called Merci Beaucoup, coloured it with Promarkers and cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities labels one, and then cut out mats with labels one and labels one scalloped.
As you can tell my card is about Paris, I have never been there but I would love to visit some day.
The papers were freebies, I think the pink one is My Mind's Eye, and the yellow background is from a stack called Spring Jubilee by Pink Paislee. I am impressed that this free gift with Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine is actually a full stack, and there were several sheets of each design so that I could easily decorate the inside of the card to match. Please excuse the crease, it happened when I was applying DST with my ATG, whoops, hoping it won't matter. I used dark pink metallic card to mat the front of the card and matching paper for the inside. The card blank is a 6" x 6" Craft UK one, they are handily sitting on shelf right by the desk so I have tended to reach for them often and I know the size of mats too! I find the card blanks a little flimsy but once I have added some mats inside and out they are more sturdy.

The ribbons are from a Bev's Vintage bag I bought a while back, I think I bought two - they are so pretty. The bow is made using the Bowdabra also from Crafty Ribbons. The roses match the roses on the paper, and the Prima blooms with pearl centres also match the tree blooms on the paper. I wanted to add flowers in honour of our main sponsor for this challenge which is Samaflora!

Please hop on over to Quirky Crafts to see what the team has made, and to join in by midday next Saturday. Don't forget a Small World is about places around the world where that you have visited, where you live or would like to go! (It is not about little things but can be about both). You could win £15 of gorgeous hand made flowers from Samaflora, some digi images from Paper Pretties, or £5 worth of beautiful flowers from Samaflora - what are you waiting for!

I have entered the following challenges:
Crafty Ribbon Challenges - anything goes with ribbon closes 25th Sept.
I love Promarkers - anything goes - Wednesdays
