Is anyone else have problems with Slide?

I can't get it to load, and when it loaded last week I couldn't get to my slide shows, maybe it isn't Windows 7 compatible?

Happy Christmas everyone

And a Very Happy Christmas to my Husband who just received this card I made last night. Another Sugar Nellie stamp coloured with Promarkers and Trias.

The end is in sight

Here I am up late again, and finishing the last couple of cards. I have one to show today using a Sugar Nellie image, I will look up the name tomorrow. This is for my son and daughter in law, DIL loves penguins so this seemed appropriate for the newly weds. I have to make a birthday card by tomorrow lunchtime, wrap the presents and clean the house, washing, oh and start preparing food for Christmas day!

A few more cards

Yes I am still making cards, haven't finished yet. I cased the bauble card from Wickedly Wonderful Creations Blog. When I saw the card there I had already cut and embossed my baubles, and had a couple of card blanks I cut last year, but it was the greenery that caught my eye and I have that punch, so borrowed the idea.

All card blanks cut with Sizzix Bigz XL dies, the tree apeture with Movers and Shapers. The bauble is a Cuttlebug die and folder combo, the shape behind is a Spellbinders Nestabilities large label die, greenery is punched with a Martha Stewart punch, shapes are embossed with holly using a Cuttlebug folder. Finally the tree card has a greeting stamped with Just Rite stamps from the Merry Little Christmas set. Gems were added to all cards and ribbons to the bauble cards and I used Papermania 3d glue dots.
Hope you like.

Still making cards

I was up until gone 1a.m. in the morning and I don't have a lot to show for it. But then I slept until 11 a.m. so lost a morning. I do feel awful, have a bad sinus headache. I ventured out to post the last of the cards to post, which probably won't get there now, and I saw a bus slip on the ice and end up on the pavement, just missing the car in front of me.
We have a covering of snow, and it is snowing again now, but the snow from yesterday froze overnight so it was very slippery. I did get all the Christmas bits out and found a few card blanks I had cut before, and some Lily of the Valley die cuts which I used to make these quick cards. The first one is cut using Sizzix Movers and Shapers and the tree is an apeture with a contrasting tree inserted that is inside the card, and I have another card in the reverse colours!

Panic stations

This is what panic stations looks like, last minute card panic still going on and I have some yet to post!

Anyone good at maths?

Or maybe miracles?  11 won't go into 63, I have 63 name labels for my Christmas card envelopes, but only about 11 cards. I think I need to get making quick cards or I will be buying quick!

Christmas tree and decorations

Man decides to get Christmas tree out of loft. Tells woman to get on other end to lift it out. Woman tells Man it needs to be assembled and is colour coded pieces. Man leaves Woman to sort it out but can't resist joining in, after all it is plugging bits in to electrical sockets! Man wrenches tree top off to better plug in green colour coded branches, then re-inserts it and plugs in. Top of tree not lighting up. Woman looks and finds not only is one wire broken off of solder but the socket bit is unstuck from centre pole - man fetches soldering iron...........

Quirky Crafts Challenge 18 - Christmas

I picked this fortnight's challenge over on the Quirky Crafts Forum and I thought we should do Christmas before we get there. My card is stamped and embossed in silver using two Penny Black stamps. I love this tree and hope to use it in many ways, but as it is so near Christmas I might not manage that. Still have loads of cards to make though so maybe sticking to one stamp and design is the way forward, also it is hard to remember who I gave which card to last year. I made 11 of these cards with varying trimmings. All panels were die cut with Nestabilities large rectangle and large scalloped rectangles.
Ribbon was a RAK from Deanne, thanks Deanne, and I think I have some more of the same somewhere in my stash, if only I could find it.........

We have just been to our first Christmas party of the year and it was good fun. Took another evening out of making those cards though!

You can enter any project you like in this fortnightly challenge, and you could win a prize. There are some wonderful DT examples on the forum including an altered tin, and an exploding box with darling tree in the middle.

Sneaky peek of challenge 18

Tomorrow is Challenge 18 over on Quirky Crafts forum, and here is a sneaky peek of my creation, I hope to make another creation but I can't say definately.
If you are anything like me, and you probably aren't, I have such good intentions, print off various challenges, think through what I am going to make and then suddenly it is too late, the challenge is over and I didn't make my card. There are two that ended today which I really wanted to enter and missed them.

Has anyone got this lampshade?

Last weekend I got to clean the glass light shades finally and boy did they need cleaning! There were 10 to clean, and I say "were" because there was a casualty. So does anyone have a spare glass lampshade like this or do you know where I can buy one? I bought the lights in BHS many years ago.

Two more days to enter

Nobody has made a card using Lyn's very versatile sketch yet and there are two more days to make your card, enter the challenge on Quirky Crafts Forum and win a prize. There are some great examples by the design team on the forum and their blogs.

Quirky Crafts Weekly Challenge 17

How do you go about creating a design team challenge card?
1. First, you know what you need to do a couple of months in advance, you should not make the card in advance - you should leave it until as late as possible, the day it is due is best.
2. If a sketch is required, pick a stamp but don't try it for size against your Nestabilities die sets, that way it is more of a challenge when you find it doesn't fit any of them and you have to start again, but not before you have stamped 4 images on 6 sheets of card and heat embossed in an attempt to get a good one, and having cleared a space you should realise that there are bits of punch waste that you also need to clear, and while doing that you should tip up your newly opened embossing powder. Clear up the powder liberally covering your clothes, then for good measure tip the pot up again and repeat. Also your first stamping attempt should use dried up ink, so you have to do it again.
3. After that discover that the stamp was too big, and look for some you stamped last year that were the perfect size all the time.
4. Finally get your inky fingers all over your newly stamped image for a smutty effect.
So here is Lyn's sketch and a nice one it is too:

Followed by the finished attempt, and for good measure forget to go cook and eat your tea so you eat too late and cannot sleep!
Hop on over to Quirky Crafts forum to see the other DT member's cards or visit their blogs from the links at the side. If you show us your card on the forum you could win a prize, and you have two weeks from today to enter.

Hey, I just realised I matched the colours in the sketch drawing, which was not intentional and would not have been the case if the first image was the right size!

Is this losing my mojo?

Or sheer laziness? I have known I had to make a DT card for two weeks, though there was the wedding. I know I am late with my stamp swap images, though I thought I had some and didn't need to stamp more - I do but they are all heat embossed and therefore will be no good for colouring with alcohol markers or Prismacolour pencils if people wish to do so, but yesterday when I had plenty of time to do both I just couldn't get myself going to do either task until it was far too late and I needed to go to bed. I also couldn't be bothered to cook or eat properly then got hungry before bed so had to have something.
Well the challenge is posted and I need to do that card, then I will stamp the images but I must put the rice cooker on first or I won't be eating until late again. Actually I have been out all afternoon, we did go for a meal with a friend and my parents, then had to go take something back to M&S which involved driving to Bath and then we popped to collect the dogs from my son who offered a cup of tea, so haven't been here much to do anything, and after getting up late I spent the morning getting ready to go out.

Better late than never - Quirky Crafts Weekly Challenge 16

Weekly Challenge 16 is masculine, so as I was in the wedding card mood I thought I would do a Civil Partnership card. I have never made one of these before but have been meaning to for some time, so would be grateful to know if the wording is suitable or if I should put something else. I am going to make a card insert in the paler colour so it can be written on, unless I do another heart to write on.

On the gadget front: I am awaiting the delivery of The Slice in pink. I wasn't going to buy one, didn't think I needed one but what changed my mind was the fact that there is a tag cartridge which works with The Tag Maker. I bought The Tag Maker a long time ago before The Slice existed and was disappointed when I found it didn't cut the tags. You either had to trace round a template and cut them out or buy a die cutting set which was only available in the USA and was mega heavy so postage was HUGE, and you needed a die head for every shape and in every size or it wasn't worth bothering and the whole set that you could get, which wasn't every size or shape, cost a lot in the first place so I have justified buying The Slice. I got it at a good price, the pink one comes with two carts and I bought the tag cart at a bargain price.Hoped it would arrive today, but roll on Monday's post now.

Wedding card for my brother and new Sister in Law

My little brother got married again on Saturday. I thought the bride was wearing red, but that was the bridesmaids, the bride was in white with burgandy trim. They liked it anyway. Spellbinders die, Nestie rectangle, Making Memories Metal Square wedding sentiment and metal word, rings charm and heart brad. Dress finished with adhesive gems.

Feeling a bit better today

Thank goodness I am feeling a bit better today, I have crafting to do, a wedding card is needed by Saturday and a box for a card. Not to mention the next Quirky Crafts Challenge on Sunday, for which I need to make a DT example. Well it is bed time so I won't be doing anything tonight.

I received a stamp order today from Sugar Nellie, I bought the charity stamps before they sold out and a great new home set by Darice because you know I needed more stamps - ha ha!
