Peace and love at Christmas

This is a Sizzix Bigz die and embossing folder combination, and I cut and embossed the dove with Cordinations paper, and sanded it to try it out. So it sat in my box of bits until now. The gorgeous paper it is on was some that I think I was given and I don't know who it is by, it has the same colour in it as the bird, and has faux stitching. The sentiments were cut with Xcut dies, and are covered in glue, I hope it eventually dried clear as it should. This was a really quick card to make.

I stamped the envelope with PaperArtsy stamps and coloured the images with Promarkers, getting inky finger prints on the envelope as you can see.

This stamp is from the same set, the envelope got creased when I carried it with me in case I needed one to give on Boxing day, and I nearly gave it away today - but forgot to take it with me!

I used the sentiment block from the same set inside, haven't taken a photo of that.

Don't eat yellow snow!

Happy Christmas to you all, I have had a good day with the family over for lunch and family staying and all went to plan I think.
This card was for my hubby, he needs a laugh! The digi is from Dr Digi, it is coloured with Promarkers and die cut with Spellbinders dies. Paper is Dovecraft I think.
The ribbon is exclusive to Crafty Ribbons.
When I showed it to my parents they said it was lovely, I had to get them to look more closely at the image haha!
Inside is decorated too, and I printed off the sentiment.

Oh Christmas tree - not!

This evil snowman had a great idea, to spray Flossie the sheep green and decorate her as a Christmas tree! When I saw Flossie on another blog I had to go straight to Dr Digi and buy her, and I also bought the snowman. The spray can and light bulbs were freebies, and I snagged a few more freebies too. Lights are All Dressed Up, and I used Promarkers to colour my fun scene! Ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and the layers are cut with Spellbinders, paper is Dovecraft.

It has been commented that Flossie is a strange zoo animal, and I would like to point out that the ABC DT examples included a shepherd holding a lamb! Also there are such things as petting zoos for children over here, I believe there is or was one at Longleat where you could find lambs to pet, then again Flossie could just be the Lion's dinner!

Sing loud!

Here is the card I made last night for my grandson. The first thing he did when he got to our house was sing We Wish You a Merry Christmas extremely loudly!
The little boy is a Molly Blooms stamp, "We Wish You..." is an Indigo Blu stamp, and "The Best Way...." is a Kaisercraft stamp. The verse is die cut with a Spellbinders speech bubble, the panels of paper are die cut with Spellbinders too, the spotty paper was a freebie and the music paper is from a Craftwork Cards pad. The image is coloured with Promarkers and Stickles Ice Diamond on the fluffy bits, and finally some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

Can you tell what it is yet? By the way he said he liked the box best and played inside that for hours!

Catching up - Little Claire geese.

I've tried to stick to bought card blanks for speed, and to use them up. Also they come with envelopes so no scrabbling round to find the right one. I had this shaped card (that I had cut earlier) lurking on my desk and decided to use it. The stamped geese are a Little Claire stamp, and they were coloured with Promarkers and die cut with Spellbinders, as was the card blank and paper layers. Papers are DCWV I think. Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I think this is a special Christmas card, my favourite so far, and I will give it to my best friend for Christmas.

I have entered the following challenges:
Sweet Stamping - Merry Christmas (26th Dec)

Catching up - cuddly snowman

I found these two Penny Black snowmen ready to go, and this Papermania paper seemed just right. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment that comes with the image onto the paper and heat embossed it. One is done with silver pearl embossing powder, the other with gold. The images were coloured with Promarkers. Some of Crafty Ribbons' exclusive ribbon finished off the card.

I've entered the following challenges:
Sweet Stamping - Merry Christmas (26th Dec)
Penny Black Saturdays - Christmas (Dec)
Crafting by Designs - Here comes the Holidays (Dec)

Catching up - Postbox

Yes well, I think I should have posted some cards today - they will be late! This is an image by Terri Sherman who is Delicious Doodles!
I coloured the image with Promarkers and die cut it with Spellbinders.
I added some Crafty Ribbons ribbon, which looks a bit crooked, but another one done!

Catching up - Penny Black tree

I had stamped this Penny Black tree and heat embossed it, then die cut it with a Spellbinders oval die a number of times. I found this gorgeous die cut sentiment using a new die I bought earlier this year which is an IO die. Decided they were perfect together - but then I couldn't find the die to cut some more! I spent hours looking until the early hours, resulting in only two complete cards that evening.

I searched for that die again the following night, and gave up and used some Xcut dies instead. Not as pretty but another 6 cards ready!

I have entered the following challenges:
Penny Black Saturdays - Christmas (Dec)

Catching up on Christmas - Doodle Dragon robin

I love this Doodle Dragon robin. I haven't been able to get in the mood for Christmas. I had maybe a dozen cards left from last year or made this year, but I need more. So I got out the digis that I had already coloured with Promarkers and die cut last year, or maybe the year before and this is one. It was ready mounted on the fancy Spellbinders Label as well as coloured, I just added some paper and a stamped greeting that was also in the box already (Hero Arts?). The paper is from a Craftwork Cards pad and is designed by Steph Davies.
Like my Yankee Candle jar top? I can't get it to work with all cards, and there is a trick to getting them to actually stand up on this one, which is to open them so the other half counterbalances the front!

I have managed to make one card, I've been in bed for a week with a virus or flu, not sure which! It is Quirky Reminder time, I didn't make it for the challenge due to computer problems, then getting sick!
I have used two cute Bugaboo images, they are one of our three sponsors this time, Skinny Bird Candy Cane and Skinny Bird Ornaments, they go so well together to make a scene.
The papers are: red and green striped from Craftwork Cards in a pad called Christmas Post, and the Merry Christmas Robins are from My Mind's Eye and the pad was a freebie with Card Making and Papercrafts magazine last year I think.
The ribbon is an exclusive from Crafty Ribbons and the digi and panel are cut with Spellbinders dies.
The images are coloured with Promarkers, with added glitter glue and Flowersoft in Polar White.

The other sponsors at Quirky are Ditzie Designs and Digital Delights so hop on over and see some more and play along to win some great prizes.
Also Bugaboo are having a 50% off sale on Christmas digis right now!

New Big Brother

My new little granddaughter is here, she is 3 weeks and 1 day old today. She had a card I made ages ago, because I spent all my time making a New Big Brother card for Kenny (poor Lily - I will make it up to her next time).
This Molly Blooms stamp of a little boy with his kite was perfect, and Kenny opened the card and said "that's me"(he loves kite flying)! Result!
I coloured the boy with Promarkers and die cut it with Spellbinders. I added DCWV papers from three pads, the background is from All About Boys and had all the right colours for the image.
The letters are cut with Sizzlets Bounce, the New is cut with an Xcut Christmas words set, and Brother is a Spellbinders die from a family set. The airplane - I can't remember who makes this die set, I will have to look for the packaging.

I would like to tell you that there is a new Challenge at Quirky Crafts and it is Christmas, I hope to make something to show you for that soon, (I am late due to my computer throwing a wobbly last week and being away for the weekend visiting my new granddaughter and grandson - where my son fixed the computer) we have three great sponsors and prizes, so hop along to Quirky and join the party! We also have a DT call, your Quirky needs you - or we won't have any challenges next year!

Quirky feathers, they are light!

It's Quirky reminder time and the challenge is all about feathers of any kind, even images containing feathers. The bird alone would have been enough but I have feathers that have sat in a box for maybe 10 years so this is a good excuse to use them. The digi and sentiment set are called Chickz - Cool Chick from Bugaboo . I love a bird in DMs! I coloured the bird with Promarkers and die cut it with Spellbinders Labels 8, and the sentiment with deckled rectangles. The paper is Rockstar by DCWV which I searched for for ages before finding a pad for sale not at a silly price. The polka dot ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons who are also sponsoring us along with Bugaboo and Sweet Pea Stamps.
Sweet Pea are closing down so it could be your last chance to win some digis from them.

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts for some more inspiration and to play along and maybe win prizes. We love to see your work.

This chicky is stomping into the following challenges:
Simon Says - Thinking of you (Wed)
Cute Card Thursday - Birds/Animals
Daring Cardmakers - cuddly creatures (Fri)
Glitter n Sparkle - add a die cut (Sun)

Pumpkins are not just for Halloween!

I just bought a pumpkin the other day, got to decide what to cook it into now, but it has to be Slimming World friendly, in other words as healthy as possible.
Are we sprouting feathers over at Quirky Crafts? You bet we are! The challenge is as light as a Quirky feather, any project with birds and/or feathers of any kind will do.

We have three great sponsors, Sweet Pea Stamps, Bugaboo and Crafty Ribbons. The image I used this time is from Sweet Pea Stamps, it is by Sandra Caudwell and is called Pilgrim Crow. Sweet Pea are closing down on 25th November sadly so this could be your last chance to win some digis from them.

I coloured the digi with Promarkers and die cut it with Spellbinders dies, the grid die is by Tonic I think. The spotty ribbons are from Crafty Ribbons, and the greeting is stamped with a clear Craftwork Cards set. I added real feathers - I have a small box full and most of them were not suitable colours for this card. Finally some Tim Holtz paper string (twine) tied in a bow with a feather charm.

So hop on over to Quirky Crafts to see some fabulous examples and to play along, and maybe win prizes.

My card has hopped into the following challenges:

Quirky Halloween and Autumn

I'm late for the new challenge at Quirky Crafts and the challenge is seasonal, it is Quirky Halloween or Autumn if you don't do Halloween. I was away for a lovely weekend with my Eldest son, heavily pregnant Daughter in Law and 3 year old grandson (photo on Cazzy Hookin' Time), and had a busy week before we went with no time to make my card.

We are sponsored by the wonderful Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet who provided the team with some great images and are providing three prizes to our top three entrants.

I used two of IkeSart images, Castle Room and Skelly Gossip which I merged together - they really belong! I coloured my scene with Chameleon marker pens, mostly in grey and some nice green mouldy walls and stones, with a brown floor and green door. You have to spend a lot of time lightening your pen for large pale areas and eventually they don't seem to lighten that much until you rest them again, maybe that is just me!

I added some Sizzix Tim Holtz stamped spiders and webs from a stamp and die set, and used the sentiment and frame from the set, I won this set recently as blog candy, and it is one I had on my wish list so I was really lucky.

The little bats are sequins.

I have entered the following spooky challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - #167 Make your Mark (Wed)
Chocolate coffee and cards - Halloween (Fri)
Ike's Art - #49 Halloween.
Pile it on - spooky or cute (Sun/Wed)
Cards Galore - Halloween (Oct)

Won.
Delicious Doodles - Halloween with no purple or orange (it's brown - it is)(Oct)

This little crocheted bat will appear on Cazzy Hookin' Time with details of the free pattern!

If you would like to play along with our challenge, either with Halloween or with Autumnal makes - any kind of project can play - hop on over to Quirky Crafts Challenge blog now!

Late for my own challenge, again!

It's Quirky Reminder time again, or it was yesterday. I am getting back to normal crafting slowly. We have three sponsors for this challenge, Sweet Pea, Jiggery Makery and Digital Delights, and the challenge is about girls using only two main colours.

My first card is using a digi called  Fairy on a Stool by Sal Scheibe from Sweet Pea Stamps, she is so pretty and modern at the same time. I just bought myself a set of Chameleon Pens from someone selling them still sealed at a price too good to miss, and I just saw the post when it went out or I am sure they would have been gone.
Getting used to colouring with them will take a little while I think, I have to work in a different way on small areas, and I need to keep lightening the colours for something like the grey shadow round the image.
Papers are DCWV and Papermania, buttons are Papermania, and ribbon from stash. Flowers are by Samaflora - aren't they gorgeous!

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 2 x 2 (2 papers) (Tues)
Inspiration Destination - #55 anything goes (Wed)
A Gem of a Challenge - spots or stripes (Sat)
The Ribbon Girls - pastels (Sun)
Creative Card Crew - ribbon (27th Oct)

My second card and this time the digi is  Zoimar Lezama's Kitty Queen from Sweet Pea Stamps. Again coloured with Chameleons, I had a bit of trouble with her nose, tried to make some tiny adjustments the day after I coloured her and it ended up worse, so now she looks a bit flushed! I think I should have trimmed round her boots - it is too late now!
The paper is My Mind's Eye - chalkboard pad, and the sentiment stamp and die are by Whimsy. I coloured the stamp with Marvy Wet Looks so I could make it two colours, the pink and black of course. It is the first time I have used this stamp set and matching die, and it won't be the last (maybe I should have added a C in front of attitude).

Challenges entered with this card:
Digi Chooseday - sentimental
Addicted to stamps - anything goes (Wed)
Little Miss Muffet - anything goes (Thurs)
Allsorts - Sentimental (Sun)
Love to Scrap - anything goes (Mon)
Vintage Stamping challenge - use a die cut (9th Nov)

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts to join in with your girl makes with two colours, and to see some other great examples from the team.

Cazzy's hookin' time.

I've started a new blog just for crochet, because I am crocheting more and more and the list of crochet  blogs I had collected was growing too large for this blog.
If you want to take a look, and it is in the early stages, hop over to Cazzy Hookin' time and let me know what you think.
