Quirky Halloween and Autumn

I'm late for the new challenge at Quirky Crafts and the challenge is seasonal, it is Quirky Halloween or Autumn if you don't do Halloween. I was away for a lovely weekend with my Eldest son, heavily pregnant Daughter in Law and 3 year old grandson (photo on Cazzy Hookin' Time), and had a busy week before we went with no time to make my card.

We are sponsored by the wonderful Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet who provided the team with some great images and are providing three prizes to our top three entrants.

I used two of IkeSart images, Castle Room and Skelly Gossip which I merged together - they really belong! I coloured my scene with Chameleon marker pens, mostly in grey and some nice green mouldy walls and stones, with a brown floor and green door. You have to spend a lot of time lightening your pen for large pale areas and eventually they don't seem to lighten that much until you rest them again, maybe that is just me!

I added some Sizzix Tim Holtz stamped spiders and webs from a stamp and die set, and used the sentiment and frame from the set, I won this set recently as blog candy, and it is one I had on my wish list so I was really lucky.

The little bats are sequins.

I have entered the following spooky challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - #167 Make your Mark (Wed)
Chocolate coffee and cards - Halloween (Fri)
Ike's Art - #49 Halloween.
Pile it on - spooky or cute (Sun/Wed)
Cards Galore - Halloween (Oct)

Won.
Delicious Doodles - Halloween with no purple or orange (it's brown - it is)(Oct)

This little crocheted bat will appear on Cazzy Hookin' Time with details of the free pattern!

If you would like to play along with our challenge, either with Halloween or with Autumnal makes - any kind of project can play - hop on over to Quirky Crafts Challenge blog now!

Late for my own challenge, again!

It's Quirky Reminder time again, or it was yesterday. I am getting back to normal crafting slowly. We have three sponsors for this challenge, Sweet Pea, Jiggery Makery and Digital Delights, and the challenge is about girls using only two main colours.

My first card is using a digi called  Fairy on a Stool by Sal Scheibe from Sweet Pea Stamps, she is so pretty and modern at the same time. I just bought myself a set of Chameleon Pens from someone selling them still sealed at a price too good to miss, and I just saw the post when it went out or I am sure they would have been gone.
Getting used to colouring with them will take a little while I think, I have to work in a different way on small areas, and I need to keep lightening the colours for something like the grey shadow round the image.
Papers are DCWV and Papermania, buttons are Papermania, and ribbon from stash. Flowers are by Samaflora - aren't they gorgeous!

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 2 x 2 (2 papers) (Tues)
Inspiration Destination - #55 anything goes (Wed)
A Gem of a Challenge - spots or stripes (Sat)
The Ribbon Girls - pastels (Sun)
Creative Card Crew - ribbon (27th Oct)

My second card and this time the digi is  Zoimar Lezama's Kitty Queen from Sweet Pea Stamps. Again coloured with Chameleons, I had a bit of trouble with her nose, tried to make some tiny adjustments the day after I coloured her and it ended up worse, so now she looks a bit flushed! I think I should have trimmed round her boots - it is too late now!
The paper is My Mind's Eye - chalkboard pad, and the sentiment stamp and die are by Whimsy. I coloured the stamp with Marvy Wet Looks so I could make it two colours, the pink and black of course. It is the first time I have used this stamp set and matching die, and it won't be the last (maybe I should have added a C in front of attitude).

Challenges entered with this card:
Digi Chooseday - sentimental
Addicted to stamps - anything goes (Wed)
Little Miss Muffet - anything goes (Thurs)
Allsorts - Sentimental (Sun)
Love to Scrap - anything goes (Mon)
Vintage Stamping challenge - use a die cut (9th Nov)

Hop on over to Quirky Crafts to join in with your girl makes with two colours, and to see some other great examples from the team.

It's CazzyTime!: The house that Cazzy built - fit for Tim Holtz?

I was thrilled to find out that my little house was picked as Pinworthy at The Vintage Journey!

Cazzy's hookin' time.

I've started a new blog just for crochet, because I am crocheting more and more and the list of crochet  blogs I had collected was growing too large for this blog.
If you want to take a look, and it is in the early stages, hop over to Cazzy Hookin' time and let me know what you think.

For the Quirky Girls, with just two colours.

I set the challenge this time at Quirky Crafts, and I want to see projects featuring girls, or for girls and only using two main colours. You can use additional colours on your digital stamp or stamped image if you use one.
I used Cute Face 1 from Jiggery Makery who is a brand new sponsor to Quirky and has lots of girly images for sale in the Etsy store.

I haven't been near my craft stash or desk for weeks due to my husband being ill - I just couldn't get creative when I felt so sad. So I thought I would try and make myself go there today and start with the simplest image to colour. Even so this has taken a few hours to complete!

I coloured the face with Promarkers then die cut it with a Spellbinders card maker rectangle, adhered it to the yellow patterned paper, which is by DCWV from a spotty Mat Stack and was already cut in the shape you see, then added orange and yellow flowers to her head covering the edges of the rectangle. When I was looking at flowers for this project the jar with these was my inspiration to go for orange and yellow as my two colours, not my normal colour scheme! Maybe I need a little sunshine in my life right now!

The flowers, spotty bow and tiny buttons and the patterned paper at the back are all from Papermania Capsule collection. I also added some orange gems to the flowers on her head and as earrings.

Spotty brads and polka dot chiffon ribbon complete the look, and finally a sentiment die cut with a Tonic die, and mounted on a shape cut with a Spellbinders die and then glittered with Stickles.

We have two more wonderful sponsors at Quirky, and those are Sweet Pea Stamps and Digital Delights and I hope to make some examples by them soon.

I will enter one or two (or seven) challenges and they are:
Passion for Promarkers - spots and stripes (Tues)
Papertake Weekly - anything goes (Tues)
Inspiration Destination - #54 anything goes (Wed)
Love to Scrap - ribbon or lace (Sun)
The Craft Barn - Diwali or Light (Sun)
The Ribbon Girl - anything goes (Sun)
Pile it on - #90 funky or freaky (Sum/Wed)
Creative Fingers - #95 anything goes.
